I've tried to build some backlinks for my blog and I was trying to find if there is any way to check if they worked.
Thanks

I am also using backlinkwatch and it does my work efficiently.

I use the SEOpen pluggin on Firefox... it's ok... worth checking out if you are using that browser...

You can try SEO Elite, it's on this forum, use the search button

ok this is what you do: sign up for a google account, sign up for google webmaster tools, once you have your account click add site and add your site. sometimes it takes google awhile to crawl your site but it will eventually so be patient. also in the future if you have a website thats pretty good size id submit your sitemap to them. but if its just a regular blogger blog or something then id skip that. anyways once your site is crawled it should show your backlinks and how many you have.

I use backlinkwatch but I find the "results stored till" quite annoying as you can't do another check till after that date as it just shows the stored report. Anyone else find this annoying?

use the command, link:w3.sitename.com in Google.
or links:w3.sitename.com in G

The different is huge - because the first link command is those which have direct referring to you in their blogroll.

By the way, I use Market Samurai to see backlins as it also gives the anchor text in the backlinks ant the PR of the page from where I am getting the backlink
