hi,

i want to create a private gallery for my personal use, like for my family pics.

is there any good free gallery script i can use which is password protected also, only registered users can enter..

its not standalone (its a joomla component) but its very easy to use to on the back end and will work exceptionally well with video

joomla will allow you to control access to it too by means of registered users...

This simplest option would be to use thickbox, shadowbox, lightbox or the likes and password protect the folder/file that holds the galleries etc.

I would personally use shadowbox, check it out at:

actually if read my post right i just pointed it out that it CAN BE MERGED with wordpress.

Menalto gallery is standalone and can run even embed video static and streaming.

plus paypal options etc. tons of module and templates

For others who want one for Google Rankings, use Gallery2, it has permalinks..or if you want to include in a Wordpress Blog, use some Gallery PlugIn.

I agree by using joomla or wordpress + plugins
It will be more customizeable because both has password protected pages or registered member only.
