As the title says it all, I would like to know if there is any free tool available for optimizing a site for mobile phones?
I know that word press has a plugin but I need a tool that can work with all or most of the sites.
Moreover what will be the charges to get a simple html site optimized for mobiles if I need it done professionally?

I don't think there is an "website2mobile converter", if you wouldn't use any wordpress themes/plugins it seems that you'll do it by yourself..

Even if there is no converter, I would like to know about a software that can help in optimizing a site for mobile phones by using its tools.

If you're using Wordpress there is WPtouch. It's free and converts your blog to a mobile optimized site. Also support AppstoresDOTcom ads (app related ads that convert really well for mobile).

wp touch is really for mobilizing blogs and falls well short of spitting out proper mobile sites for business

@OP in all honesty i would spend your efforts learning how to knock out a quick mobile site - its not rocket science and you will have a lot more control over how the site looks, performs and validates

What software will you recommend if I want to start learning it on my own?
