Is there any danger in keeping all my domains at one registrar?

I have several domains and almost all of them are at the same registrar (NameCheap)... I'm just wondering, is there any danger with having them all in one place like this? Should I have a few different registrars and divide my domains between them? Does it matter?

I have multiple hosting accounts with different providers to keep things separate that way, but not the domains...

Anyway I've never had a problem in the past, I'm not doing anything remotely shady with my domains (no warez, no malware, no porn sites)... I'm just wondering if this arrangement is normal/safe?

You could get all of your domains blacklisted by google if you have the same niche for all of them and if they are registered to the same account.
If they are different I don't see someone of going through all the trouble of looking for all the domains you own and doing something to all of them.

If you are building pbns and so on then I guess it does matter as its a potential footprint.

If you mean in terms of redundancy i don't think it's an issue. I always think it is good to have separate host and registrar though - makes it easy to move your sites if your host goes down (just a change of dns and restore from backup).

I guess I'm more thinking of redundancy.... I do keep the hosting separate so if something goes down I just restore from backup and update dns like you said. I guess the registrar doesn't ever really go "down".

The only other thing that happens is the occasional B.S. DMCA notice... and I try to keep everything above board to avoid those. I've only gotten 1 in the last year and it really was BS. But I guess those go to the host only... not much the registrar can do? I'm just paranoid that as I get more traffic some competing person or persons will try to sabotage.

I know, I'm probably just being paranoid. I'm in multiple different niches but all together it's my main source of income, so I worry...

Hmm, I see. If your sites are valuable I would probably agree with you and would have some separate registrars- in IT (which is broadly what we are talking about) there is no such thing as never. If something can happen it will.

So "registrar never goes down". It could and probably one day it will.

Also as you say, it is possible that you got a big issue and you fall out with registrar, they could close your account.

Even the fact you are asking tells me you should probably consider doing it - like the next domain you purchase just make a point to start with a new registrar.

Thanks @davids355, and everyone also... I guess the bottom line is I shouldn't have all my eggs in one basket. Like you said if I'm even thinking it it means I probably need to do it. I just needed to hear it from someone else. :)
