Is there any correlation between organic search rankings and my server?s system resources? I have a large site and wonder if increasing my server budget will increase my rankings. Site is now over 50k pages with 1000- 1200 visitors daily over 100,000 page views monthly. I have a PRO package at Pantheon 20G. (Package says it?s for up to 100,000 page views per month.) The next package is a lot more money. Don?t know if it would make any difference.

Simply put, no. Your server size has nothing to do with your rankings.

This is true. I should have labeled my post as an assumption. If we're going off of what we know works and helps, then I stand by my statement.

If it affects load time of your site, than it does. In many ways. Directly, they just dont like sites that loads slowly and undirectly, your visitors will not like your page and you will get less organic social shares and links.

No. Google has no way to determine how much ram your server size, or what specs it has. Google CAN determine page load speed however. Focus on that.

Your server size affects organic rankings indirectly, mainly through your site speed.

The faster (and consequently more user-friendly) your site is, the greater the chance that your articles will be shared in social media or linked to on other places on da interwebz. These will of course, increase your organic rankings.

If you're thinking of upgrading, think about your profitability first. Will the upgrading still leave you enough profit to re-invest in other stuff? You can also consider upgrading an investment in improving your "product" a.k.a your blog.

Increasing your server size won't magically increase your rankings. However every second/millisecond you shave off from your page load time directly affects your rankings in almost REALTIME.

    How is your DNS resolution?
Do you use any managed DNS like DYN/DNSmadeeasy?
Do you use a CDN to offload your static content?
Have you switched to SSL yet?
Do they offer SPDY for SSL?
Switching to SSL will instantly get you some noticeable improvements in rankings.

While pagespeed score is yet another unreliable metric, we've seen some immediate boost(~12 hrs) in rankings for this other member after optimizing the site as per Pagespeed recommendations.

    Before :

    After :

This is what he got to say after optimization : 4 new keywords already shown ranking and 2 jumped into top 3 already

Optimize your site with the current server and see how much optimization you can get out of it. The only thing you'll have to concentrate about is to reduce loading time while maintaining if not increasing the visitor experience.

I'm thinking page speed id good. I was also reading about SSL and a lot of guys are saying it doesn't matter at all. Have you tried it out?

I have switched all mine and my client's sites to SSL. Easiest way to jump a couple of spots in SERPs. Also, don't miss out the CDN.

Page speed is the only way I see getting a bigger package impacting your rankings because a bigger package will definitely make a difference in your site's speed.

Server size has nothing to do with ranking but performance has.
Only upgrade if you feeling it will improve your performance and resonse time and overall user's experience, just my 2 cents )

System rosources is also considered in organic search engines.its like page loading time and page speed.
if it is reaching 100000 page view, better u go with even bigger pack.
