Maybe this is a dumb post, but I am curious as to whether anyone has come up with an industry standard set of data on how exactly all of the major malware search engines/foistware search engines go about categorizing and pulling results when you search with them. I read somewhere that it is estimated that around 1-2 million elderly people do most of their searching through AVG Secure search thanks to the delightful little toolbar, and etc. Personally I think that may be even underestimating it. Is there a resource that lists how every single one of these malware/foistware search engine providers gets their result, ie: do they pull from google locally, are they pulling from bing and faking it to look like google, etc etc
