    Hi guys.

This is a bit of a long one, apologies for that, but i have been looking for a theme that can deal with this, or an option of some sort, but with no luck.

    Here is my plan:

    DIGITAL RECORD PROMOTION SITE

Problem: there are approximately10,000 new dance records released each week. Many labels employ anexternal email-based promotion service to get their track to topinternational DJs. The DJ therefore receives 100s, if not 1000s ofemails each week. The process of checking all these is very timeconsuming, as each requires clicking to an external link to hear thetrack and leave a comment. It's no surprise that the DJ wont spendhours filtering through these emails; often only listening to labelsand artists they recognise. The smaller labels and artists will missout. The DJ may well be missing out on finding a hidden, unknown gem.

Solution: provide anitunes/beatport style music player where labels upload their tracksand the DJ simply gets a list of suitable tracks to play through inone place.

    How The Site Works:

There are two 'users' of the site, theDJ and the label.

The DJ: they will have beenspecially selected to join the site. On a monday morning they getsent an email, with a link to their account page, notifying them oftracks that fit the genres they have previously chosen in theirpreferences i.e. deep house, tech house etc. The tracks are presentedin a single list, like itunes, if they like it they HAVE to leave acomment or a score out of 10 and which then enables them to downloadthat track. This comment and download info is then sent to thelabel's account page of the website. The DJ can opt to have theircomments sent to their own facebook or twitter account. Once the DJhas finished checking the tracks he can then download all theselected ones in a single zipped file. I envisage the DJ will use onepage.

The Label: a record label pays afee to upload a track to the site. They can specify a limited amountof genre/genres that they feel each track fits in to. All thecomments made on a track are held in one place as a text file, listedby the DJ name. This info should be easily transferable for the labelto use in promoting the track :

Carl Cox - ?Wicked track, I'll beplaying this?
    Richie Hawtin - ?Love it?

The label could automate any commentsleft to be sent to the label's twitter and facebook pages. After agiven period, say 1 month, the uploaded track is deleted from theserver. There is no need to store them indefinitely, keeping storagecosts down. I envisage the label will use three pages: 1) the initialupload page 2) an over view of all the tracks they are activelypromoting 3) the overview of a specific track showing all the DJcomments, twitter and facebook send links and who has downloaded it.

If anyone knows of a WP theme that can deal with that, I would be really grateful for your input.

Thanks in advance for your time and kind regards,

    James :)

I highly doubt you will find an all-in-one WP theme that does this. I mean, your project is very specific and obviously no theme has been developed with exactly this in mind.

Your best bet IMO will be to find and hire a good freelancer to develop the exact system you have just explained, so you will have exactly what you need. Additionally this will make you end up with a very unique website.

Sounds like a nice idea. Might be hard to get off the ground unless you already have contacts in the music biz.
As Zak_A said, you should definitely get a custom site built.
If you get it up and running let me know as I know a guy in PR that has plenty of contacts.
