Is there a way to know if someone has 301 redirected penalized site to mine?

Hi all, Just wondering which tool or if there is a better way to see if anyone has redirected a penalized website to mine, therefore passing on the penalty. My site has dropped 40 spots yesterday from page 1, for all keywords out of nowhere. I can't see any spammy links pointing to it, so wondering if something else has happened, thank you.

sending a penalized domain to different niche and unrelated domains (even with the same niche) doesnt penalize the targeted 301
already tried it once when i have a domain got a unnatural links manual action from google, and tried redirecting it to different domain
it doesnt penalize the targeted domains...

if your domain is already established for example 1 year.. all i can say is no one is bullshiting on you, dont be paranoid if your rank get down and you are trying to point finger on competitors

    its just a google dance

Check your backlinks on majesticseo, you will see if there is a 301 redirection on your site.

You can check with ahrefs, majestic seo and open site explorer. Also you there are other less popular backlink checkers and most people don't block them

You can check your backlinks, as others have said, but if this turns out to be more than a temporary drop I would start looking for more likely explanations.
