so im changing my IP using belkin router..

what i do is clone the mac address and then i will get a new IP..

but now it seems that there's a limit for cloning my mac address so i cant renew my IP anymore..

anyone have ways to change my IP using Belkin Router / Comcast??

just take off the mac address cloning and you will get a new ip when you want to get another enable mac clone again and reset the router and modem

theres an option inside your router to disable mac address cloning, once you disable that pull the power form the router and the modem wait about 2-3 minutes then power them both back on do an ipconfig/renew on the router side and you will have a new ip from your isp dhcp server. REPEAT process again to get another new IP just this time ENABLE MAC address cloning o yea and make sure you enter the mac address you want to clone.

I don't know if changing the MAC on the router still works with Comcast...in my area it hasn't worked in a while. I may be wrong, but I think in my area the DHCP lease is now tied to my modem's MAC address.

i know it will work you can always "trick" your ISP's DHCP server, but if your worried about doing something on that IP that you shouldn't be doing and you get caught. Just cause you don't have that IP no more doesn't mean they will not bust you for "what ever the case maybe". They are also issued with time stamps so they will know.

yeah when i hit clone.. nothing happens.. i think cause there is a limit i already clone my ip 4 times..

do you mean i should hit the clear changes or apply changes? then restart modem then do do an ipconfig/renew on the router side?

if you have it set already to clone then just take out the clone mac addy and hit appy changes then restart your modem and router. There is no limit to the amount of times you can do this, Bascially you have 2 mac address's
    1 for your router
    1 for your computer

just switch between the two and you will be able to change ips

I would suggest surfing You*Tube for videos on how to change your MAC/IP .... I have found a few different methods that work pretty well. I won't post the links here because I don't want to accidentally get the vids removed.

Or just run a G search for macmakeup195d <---- cool little mac swapping software.

don't click on clone, change the numbers from 0 to 9 and from A to F .. just change 1 and click apply, and reset modem after that.
