Did IG just do another purge of fake followers? I had about 18.7 k followers on the main account I'm using yesterday per Followliker and today I have a litlte over 18.2 k.
This is a legitmate account I use for sports product promotion and I've never bought followers, I've never even paid for a shout-out. I have every reason to believe my followers are real accounts. I have occasionally noticed when my follower count would go down over a short period of time (like a day or so) a hundred or so but never roughly 500. A 3 percent drop isn't much if this is all there is, and if it was a fake follow purge I suppose it won't continue as a trend.
I personally don't care if IG does remove truely fake followers, I'm not doing much to monitize the sheer number of followers I have, I'm just wondering if there was a intentional purge that is going on right now, or maybe some fake follower providers just decided to unfollow me. I would hate to think though that a fake follower purge might purge legit accounts that were following me but I don't think I'll be able to know if that was the case unless someone notices and messages me. Again, my content isn't contraversial, everything is legit, I use only organic toothpaste and mouthwash products and my parents think what I'm doing is cool, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks, Kaizen777, by about what percentage drop would that be, if you don't mind sayng? Info like that may be helpful to know the extent or reasoning behind the action.
Personally I try to unfollow suspicious-looking / spam accounts if I accidentally follow them, and block accounts with what I think would be objectionable content (to the point of view of desirable followers). If I could more easily know which accounts were fake I'd be glad to do more to avoid or at least unfollow them.
All i can say for my losses, is like ssc, my account was 100% pure. Only have ever done paid instagram ads.
