    Sorry for my English. You can use Total Commander. First you type all names in notepad, each line per name with extension. Then use the program to load the file name and rename all your image files. I hope you understand.

    There is some info on the site below but it is only applicable to Windows XP:

    Code:
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/renamers/ht/renamexp.htm
    You can also do it if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements

    Code:
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/renamers/ht/apsrename.htm
    And there are more options below:

    Code:
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/renamers/Batch_Rename_Picture_Files_Tools_Tips.htm
    Cheers!

    Home Page:
    A very simple PHP script can do this for you.

    PHP:
     if (!rename ("/home/yoursite/www/images/$prodname""/home/yoursite/www/images/$prodnewname")) {
      echo
    "failed to rename $prodname...\n";

    }

    +1 for bob1234.

    I usually do these kind of things with PHP, just execute it in SSH and watch it buzz through the images in seconds.

    I use phatch all the time. Not only can it change the name in batches, it can actually change the photo, give it a drop shadow, round the edges whatever while it's changing the name. All of it is done in batch.

    I can completely transform 500 photos in a matter of seconds.

    It's a linux program but it will run fine under windows, just install python and read the directions from the phatch wiki.

    It is truly sounds much more complicated than it really is.

    You should check it out....

    Oh did I mention it is open source? So you get what you don't pay for.
