Hey guys,

I have been thinking of getting into site flipping on the side, but I am wondering if there is an actual demand for HQ sites anymore.

I look on flippa, and all I see is crappy cookie cutter websites with copied content, no earnings selling at around $60. And the sites I see with earnings are ending unsold with bids that maybe go up to $100-200 for a site that makes $100/month.

I have the skills to make a site, and within 3 months, have it earn at least $10/day, so around $300/month, but doing so would cost me quite a bit, and make me put in a lot of time... so much so that it would only make sense to sell for around $5000... (16-17 month multiple)

Is anyone selling sites that actually earn a decent amount, and actually selling them for a decent multiple on the earnings? Or is it a dead market for sites that earn and people are only trying to "try their luck" with a new site?

Is flippa just dead? Is there a better place to look for HQ sites?

Thanks in advance guys!

I don't think many people would buy a website only making $10/day for $5000.

Thewirecutter.com was just sold for $30 million. They only have 1000 content articles. They create very high value content for their users that google and site buyers appreciate.

16-17 multiple ahahaha.
What is the multiple people are paying now?

This is something I really don't get. Why do people spend $50-$100 on a website that earns nothign out of the gate, and *might* earn something if they are lucky, but will not spend on something where they would recoup their investment within 2 years guaranteed, with possible extra earnings?

Like right now, I am just building these up for myself, and keeping them earning... I have done it for a while now, and am earning a lot off them with no issues...

Sites on empire flippers sell for 20X monthly profit

Good to know, might take a look into them.

That's because it's empire flippers. Their vetting process is insanity compared to other flip sites.

I would have no issue with this, as my sites are actually HQ and would pass any vetting...

Thanks for the info. Might try listing one of my sites on empire to see what they would suggest as the sale price.

WordPress and the like make "high quality " sites obsolete these days to be honest. I sold my site earlier this year for xx, xxx which was 2 years old and it was wp based with 100k unique per month .
$10 a day is not a profitable site considering upkeep . When you break the $1,000 a month then you can consider selling and expect roi .
Flippa is still a good platform for sales if you market correctly and leave room for new ownership growth .

Nice thing is my sites run on autopilot once set up, and they continuously grow... So 0 upkeep (well, hosting, but if you have a decent host acc you can have as many websites on same host as you want, and hosting becomes almost free/site) I spend like 2h/month on my sites and the rest is on autopilot.

But good to know about the $1k/month that people might be looking for... I can easily get them to that, it just takes time because they can only grow so fast.

With all due respect it's 2 hours a month that only returned $10 a day.

Well, it's $150/h if you just do one site.

When I say 2h I manage around 20-30 sites in that span. Unfortunately it takes just as long to manage 1 as it does to manage 10, ro 20, or 50+

That's even worse than I thought. 2 hours a month on 20+ sites can not be considered "High quality " .
If you don't mind can you pm me one of these sites so I can see for myself ?

Lol, no each site makes $10/day so across the 20-30 its $10*#sites

After the initial set-up each site starts to earn around $5/day more every month, and the set-up takes around 3 months to get it to that point.. So 3 months in it makes ~10/day on a site, 6 months in it will make $25/day, if I leave it for a year, it would make ~55/day

So in 20 years when you make $1,000 a day shoot me a PM I might be interested .
Or you can actually build a e-commerce site with a actual product and make that amount in 6 months . You decide . . .

Say I set up 30 of these sites, it would take a total of 7.6 months to hit $1k/day. (What I am doing right now) If I set up 50 of them I would hit the same in 6.3 months... The great thing is I could set up as many of these as I wanted, and still just spend 2h/month to manage them all...

I was thinking instead of just building them, if I could flip them, I could get say $5k per site, do 50/3 months, make a nice $250k every quarter

People still buy high quality site. I have sold site at flippa an empireflippers. If you can build them to earn $10/d, there is going to be high demand for it.

I could buy those turn and burn sites here for $25 dollars. The only difference is that they don't describe them as "High quality " lol
