    I've only found redirect codes that make the user see my blogspot page for a few seconds then direct them to their destination, even though the number in the code is set to 0.

    I've visited blogger links before and it took me straight onto another website, so I know it's possible.

    Hi,

    I use this code:

    HTML:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    var d='<data:blog.url/>';
    d=d.replace(/.*\/\/[^\/]*/, '');
    location.href = 'http://insertyoursiteurlhere/';
    </script>
    You need to add this under <head>.

    Best Regards,
    Jaymien.

    if you're doing this on your own domain then you can use .htaccess codes to instantly redirect:

    Redirect /goo http://www.google.com

    clicking "yourdomain.com/goo" will send you to google.

    I'm having a bit of an issue with the script now, it seems to automatically add a '; to the end of my destination url. Which results in the visitor being directed to a 404 page on my site. Is there any fix for this?

    Thanks.

    My guess is that you have added an Apostrophe at the end.

    Here's what I did, I added this code to the html:

    <script type='text/javascript'>
    var d='<data:blog.url/>';
    d=d.replace(/.*\/\/[^\/]*/, '');
    location.href = 'http://insertyoursiteurlhere.com/';
    </script>

    then I saved it, refreshed the edit html page, and now it looks like this:

    <script type='text/javascript'>
    var d='<data:blog.url/>';
    d=d.replace(/.*\/\/[^\/]*/, '');
    location.href = 'http://insertyoursiteurlhere.com/';
    </script>

    What are you using to edit the html file?

    Use a plain text editor like Notepad++

    I'm just doing it in the edit html section in blogspot, I put the code provided above under head in the code, then put in my url.

    Sorry don't use Blogger, I think you might need to add the HTML/Javascript gadget/widget.

    There are a few different "add a gadget" options on the page, one for cross column, one for sidebar etc..I tried one for the crossbar, but the redirect isn't instant anymore, it goes to the blog page then goes to the destination.

    There isn't an option to add one to the header as far as I can see.

    What is the reason for this ' automatically added to the end? If it weren't for that, everything would work.

    Just to let anybody else out there looking for this code know, the script above doesn't seem to work properly.

    I however found one that does work:

    <script type='text/javascript'> window.location.replace("http://yoururl.com") </script>
