Is there a benefit to using buffer sites?

    I've seen epople talk about doing this, and I've seen some people say it's awesome and some people say it doesn't do anything handy and there isn't a reason to do it.

    Here's what I'm talking about: Basically instead of pointing all your links to your site, you point them all to some other site and then that site points to the site you want to improve.

    Depends on the buffer domain. People use web 2.0s as buffers for spam and sape b/c they have massive authority and can withstand it, but using a regular domain would be completely pointless.
