Hello. I did some quick research using micro niche finder and found out a niche that seems to be excellent. I am obviously not gonna name it but needed an opinion if it's worth the effort to use it for marketing.

The stats from micro niche finder are

    search count: 74000
    exact phrase count: 660,000
search without quotes(done manually): 5.5 million results.
    OCI: 99%
    ad cost: 3.10

The competition is fairly low for a keyword that has that much search volume and that is what confuses me. Either I have landed myself a goldmine or I just wasted 10 minutes of everyone reading this thread. An opinion is appreciated.

P.S. If someone does feel like flaming me for this question, please do so by all means. keeps me focused.

I would recommend typing the long-tailed keyword into google with an exact phrase match and seeing how many competitors there are.

Or is the 660,000 that number?

It looks good to me. But I can't tell you if its goldmine because I don't know the niche (I am not asking you to tell me). Try analising the 10 first sites on G. If there authority old sites it will be difficult to rank. It also depends on your SEO skills.

See for tell tale signs of web 2.0 pages in the top 30. If you find any..it means you can get there with a lil bit of linking.
Use siteexplorer and analyze the backlinks of the top 10..anything under 500 links means you can get there with a month or twos work.

i analyzed the top 10 already using market samurai. It seems that about 3 of the first 10 could be displaced by some simple on-page optimization. also, for the backlink structure, I am in love with the linkwheel strategy so will use the same. Will have to check for the web 2.0 though. Thanks everyone for the inputs. It does seem like a good one.

@ deguzman523. re-read the original post. :) I posted both the numbers. The exact phrase count (660,000) is the phrase in quotes and 5.5 million without any quotes.

I searched for more info regarding siteexplorer and wasn't able to find out much..

Would you be able to tell me a lil more about it and where I can get it please?=]. Finding out how many backlinks is needed sounds super handy!

    Thanks!
