No, nearly all the upvotes are from the upvote bots now.

This!

Left steemit at 68 Points some weeks ago and cashed out.
Those bots ruin everything, whales can destroy your earnings (and do it to annoy you) in one click.

Thanks for mention. OP, you post good content there and people upvote you. With time, your score will increase and you will earn good.
if i start now? how long i have to wait to earn sufficient money.

You have "good" client base, why you want to go with steemit. Try your LUCK with BTC.;)

I think bots have had a negative impact. If your content is good and in particular you are trying to drive traffic from crypto related demographic it can be good.

Can't we post related to Escort service on steemit?!

Or post NSFW videos of these girls on DTube ?

The people who truly benefit from Steemit the most are the people who have been there since the beginning, and all the new users just end up feeding all their steem power to those accounts. The people who are posting making hundreds of dollars or even thousands many are using bots that they pay for to promote their posts and then sometimes make a profit and sometimes break even (the amount Steem says they are making from those posts is decieving), then they have to wait a period of time before cashing out, which is why I would stay away from it as an actual money making method.
You can tell if people used these bots sometimes as some of them will comment on the post after up-voting it.

That being said if you use an external source of traffic to grow a following that is loyal I think it can still be profitable in the LONG RUN
