So I am aware that there are alot of spawned newcommers within the youtube letsplayer community. I've been doing this for a yeah now and i've noticed that people thats have been on youtube for a few months with 3x less videos have 20x the subscribers and views that I have. Now I've been told, that my continent isn't bad, it leaves room for improvement (but everything is like that at the beggining) but it can't be that bad, right?
One thing I did notice on all these strangely fast growing channels is their constant spamming on other channels to check out their videos and twitter accounds that are following 20k people and have around the same amount of followers.
So is spamming really the only efficient way to actually build an audience/attract attention nowadays? Because if so..well...f**k.. :(

Maybe their videos are just better. Also, some social signals couldn't hurt.

You'll definitely get a lot of hate spamming every video with check me out blahblahblah. Just interact with people's comments like a real person. If you say you have some real good content on your channel then it'll come

Maybe their likes and views are bought so not organic, not money gaining, only bigger in number. And, yes, spamming can really get you banned these days so better not do it. Instead keep on making better and better let's plays. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. You know it's not about the fame or money even. For that I study and want to get a job that will make a difference. This is just a hobby I guess, but still, I do want people watching them.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, could you imagine that if for some god blessed mistake you would get a decient constant audience after spamming and you'd always get these people who would go:" ah yeah I know him, he got to where he is through spam".
    That would be horrible.

In time, say about 6 months-1 year your channel will "grow", you will see that. And by sharing your let's plays in various Fb groups, or on forums, or cross-promoting with another youtuber you will evolve really nice.
