I am think is server location will affect GEO_Targeted SEO or not

But the server already proxy by Cloudflare, is the location really a factor ?

Beyond offering a fast-loading website for your visitors, I don´t see how.

And even then, there´s CDNs

No location of server doesn't play a big part here.
Got lots of Indian local business client sites hosted on US and EU servers.
No issues with any of those websites.

Server location can impact GEO_Targeted SEO, but if your server is proxied by Cloudflare, the impact may be reduced as it can serve cached versions from multiple locations. It's still important to choose a server location close to your audience for fast page load times, and using a CDN like Cloudflare can further improve website performance.

Yes, in my experience this makes a big difference. Even if the website is already on Cloudflare.

Your experience may vary.

Well, I use CloudFlare, but still I make sure my servers are located in the US which is my target country. There is no harm and no extra cost associated with selecting server location of your choice.

Having a server close to your main targeted country could help you with SEO. Anyhow you're gonna host the server make it in your targeted country.

I used to worry about this years ago but other than speed for your target audience it does not make a difference at all. Using the correct GEO / Lang tags in your code is FAR more important if you want to rank for a specific region, as is spelling. I have a UK server with a US audience targeted site and it does great in the US but I have written in US English, used US slang where appropriate and have the correct code tags etc. I also have many US servers targeting UK searches and they work perfectly too.

You can also tell Google which country/region is your preferred audience in GSC (which I did at the very beginning) but it does not make that much of a difference compared to the above, in my experience.

For my experience it doesn't influence the ranking

Server location is not an issues for geo targeting seo but its a big factor on page speed, nearest server will serve data 10X faster then remote server and google loved fast loaded site, test yourt site with GTmetrix you will get the idea for improving your page speed

Google mostly recommends the sites which are faster. So I think it doesn't matters much. If needed you can use the server based on your location.

What’s a CDN how do they work?

What’s a CDN how do they work?
A CDN is a system of servers that are distributed around the world to store and deliver website content to users faster and more efficiently. When a user visits a website, the CDN automatically redirects them to the server that is closest to their location. This reduces the distance that the data has to travel, resulting in faster load times for the user. CDNs also help to distribute the traffic load across multiple servers, ensuring that the website can handle high traffic volumes without crashing.

Server location is one of the main factors for page loading speed, which in turn is a ranking factor.
Hence, it affects SEO if not done properly.

yes, location can be one factor for geo restrictions but i have one great solution for you.
I personally using one app for unlocking geo restriction content. that app is working with security and privacy so we don't need worry about that ! fake gps location & spoofer is a great app which will help you a lot. :)

Server location does play a role in GEO-targeted SEO, but when your website is proxied through Cloudflare, the impact is less significant. Cloudflare's content delivery network (CDN) helps distribute content from servers around the world, mitigating the effects of server location on GEO-targeting. However, it's still important to set your GEO-targeting preferences in Google Search Console and use hreflang tags if your site targets specific regions or countries. This ensures search engines understand your intended audience.

My experience tell me, this totally not related. Cloudflare already clocking all your server information.

I don't think so.

I have a site hosted on Germany server but targeted audience are from North America and it ranks in north America and a few EU countries combined.

In my opinion, site language, server speed, and site speed itself all play a more important role in ranking than just server location. I use Cloudflare tho.

Yes, server location is a major factor of GEO_Targeted SEO. It is important for search engines to know where a website is located in order to accurately deliver the most relevant search results to users. A website's server location can affect the way search engines index and rank the website in search engine results.
