    Hi guys,

    I've seen lately an increased interest in email marketing. I know the BHW section was closed and I always thought the subject is forbidden, much like CL. Since even a BST was recently approved, I guess it's safe to ask this.

    So, I have a 4k IM list and I'm sort of new at mass mailing, so I was wondering what is the best route to go with it?

    - sell it (is it legal?);
    - do some sort of JV;
    - spam the hell out of it with CB products, until members decide to abandon their addresses;
    - send them a freebie to add them on AWeber and then do email swipes (have no idea where to start).

    That's about all I can think of, but I'm always open to suggestions.

    Thanks and sorry for my poor English!

    Depends on how you generated that list? Did they opt-in or is it scraped list? You can sell it legally if when they opted in you wrote in the terms of agreement or privacy policy that you would share their email address with 3rd parties. Spamming the hell out of a list with a CB is stupid even more stupid with a 4k list which is small. Again where do you get the emails from? why did they give the email what was the intentions, what is the niche etc. Understand your list and if you have not sent a single email before do not spam them with shit offers you have to build trust and remind them how you got the email and if they want to opt out. This way you only have the freshest list and you offer them a freebie in the first email to see response and click rates etc. With 4k you will have to build a good few emails of a relationship and freebies etc before you send them a offer to even get any decent ctr.

    The niche is in the OP: IM
    So you say I should go with the reputation/freebie route? Because I see a lot of hassle in it, and maybe it will be better for me to focus in gathering more mails than increasing my trust with these.

    Beside, even though they are in a niche, IM is so vague, I can't really hope to nail even most of my leads with their certain needs (SEO, traffic, start making money, Fb, etc.) and building the trust relays in fulfilling their needs...

    Not any thoughts? Can someone point me in the right direction for email swaps or any other lucrative method?
