Do you think that some amount of self doubt is actually good while starting a new project? I think it is because it helps to keep expectations in check.

Overconfidence is worse than self doubt. Lot's of stupid mistakes have been made by all of us in all aspects of life right? That's learning. Life is all about continuously learning new things at least in my life it has. We all make dumb decisions from time to time. Plan your work, work your plan. Research your competition before investing money and time. We all need to reflect and review what has worked in the past, nobody who is honest about themselves is an expert in all fields.

If you want to read a valuable guide to marketing- read "The 22 immutable laws of marketing" by Ries and Trout. It's succinct and a great reference guide before you embark on any business project.

I did not hear about the book before. I will surely read it.

It has been in print for quite some time and is only a quarter inch thick. It uses great business examples too.

Like: "It’s better to be first in the mind than it is to be first in the marketplace."- this is what Google has become to have gobbled up most of the search market share. Google has become a verb unfortunately. They own the word "search" = google too which is another rule in the book.

But, here somebody reviewed it: samueljwoods. com/the-22-immutable-laws-of-marketing-al-ries-jack-trout/
