Was checking out a site last night that's ranked #1 for a very low comp term and all it's backlinks, at least the links I could find, were ref spam. Is it still worth it to do some ref spam? Just to second tier sites maybe? Anyone doing a lot of ref spam and getting good results?

ref spam?
Referer spam.. Typically doing fake hits to a site to get listed on their stats page or if they have a top list etc.
