I have a couple bigger websites that earn a decent amount and are in the top 5 spots for each term that they have.

I have a good backing profile from some high and lower PR websites.

My PR on all sites is 0, and has been for a year, after every update.

I am outranking a ton of sites that have pr4 or even higher...

    Does PR mean anything anymore?

    Hey OP,

Google's PR score has lost more and more value as a prominent authority signal over the last few years.

Instead turn to moz's open site explorer and check out the metrics they provide for websites, the PA and DA are solid indicators of a websites authority.

Hope this helps answer your question ! :)

High PR links are still the most important factor when ranking a site in a niche that's even medium competition. It just speaks for itself, and anyone that says that PR has lost value is kidding themselves. I'm not sure how the myth that PR lost its power started :/

For backlinking purposes, PR is still important.

Whether or not you need high PR website to rank, that's not entirely relevant.

I'd recommend a tool like Open Site Explorer to give you a good idea of how much authority a site has.

PR is becoming more and more irrelevant.

I've got sites with 0 PR that are ranking above sites with PR. I agree with poster above. Seems like PA is a better indicator of linkjuice. Moz does PA. Just my .02
