Ok, I'm promoting a CB product. The commission is high.

I have a very convincing salesletter that manage to have a lot of conversions.
I went to Adwords to see the bid pricing and it's $5.00!

Is there a formula or something to see if it's worth it to pay for such an expensive click?

At that much a click you need to start working on long tail keywords. Unless you're good with PPC you will burn through your ad money real quick. That's a very tough niche

Go for long tails and get super targeted.
You need t convert uber well to break even or have a huge comission.
    Whats the payout?

    About $100+

    Minimum bid is $4.75

I manage to get 4-5 sales per day before - it's from organic traffic.
Nvm, I will heed the advice - finding long keywords. Thanks!

Like how the fuck are we supposed to know if your $5 clicks are worth it. Run $100/day for the next couple days and see if your ad spend equals a profit.

The "formula" is called throw some monies at it and see if it works.

Let me be clear.. there is NOTHING anyone can post in this thread that will be even remotely accurate with the information you are giving us.

EDIT: -- See you at least posted payout. But I am serious man... the only way is to create some tight ad groups, track to the keyword and see if its worth it. You better have split tested your ad copies/LP's and make sure you are converting to the best of your ability before spending $5 a click.

It totally matters what your promoting.... Recently Ive been selling a label printer and am paying upwards of $7.00 per click and only making $35 per sale. However, the traffic is super targeted converts great so it is totally worth it. It would even be worth it at twice the cost per click, it all matters what your selling, and how.

    What is your conversion rate?

The only reason it would be worth it is if your conversion rate was at least somewhere around 10%

    100 clicks @ $5 = $500

10%=10 conversions out of 100 clicks,

=100% ROI. But if you can scale it enough than a 50% ROI could be good.

    What is your conversion rate?

One one can possibly tell you if it is worth is (you won't even know for yourself) until you test it out for a while and get some solid statistics to work on.

For a $100 payout, you would have to convert 1:20 (or 5%) in order to break even. If you're targeting very good keywords, this may be quite feasible.

Personally, to pay that for a $100 payout, I'd want to be targetting an exact match on some longtail like "I have my credit card out and want to buy [Product Name] right now".

that's a lot of money to spend per click... you better have a killer landing page... I'd try long tails and the content network.

well, the highest cpc keywords are around $50 per click.

and yet people are still able to monetize them... somehow.

so yea, anything's possible with adwords, if you know your shit.
