Is Pay Per Install still profitable in 2025?

PPI still works, but it’s not as big as it used to be because a lot of ad platforms and users are stricter about software installs now. Most people who still make money with it focus on specific niches like utilities, antivirus, VPNs, or mobile apps and promote them through download sites, push ads, or incentivized traffic.

There are still networks running these offers like CPAlead, AdWork Media, and MaxBounty, but the key is having the right traffic source because installs usually pay small amounts per conversion.

What about desktop traffic? Does anyone know how relevant this is in 2026? I have a huge pool of donor sites for backlinks, maybe it's worth using it in the download niche. What do you think about this?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading about PPI offers and how they used to be a great way to monetize traffic, but I’m not sure if it’s still effective today.
Is anyone here still making consistent earnings with PPI?
Curious what networks or traffic sources still convert well.
Hello how are you I have high quality traffic available

PPI (Pay-Per-Install) offers can still generate revenue in 2026, but they are generally much harder to scale and sustain than they were years ago. Increased security awareness, stricter browser protections, antivirus warnings, and tighter advertising policies have reduced conversion rates for many traditional PPI campaigns.

The affiliates who still earn consistently with PPI usually focus on legitimate software, utilities, mobile apps, or niche audiences that already have a clear reason to install a product. Trust and user intent matter far more today than sheer traffic volume.

My recommendation is to be cautious when choosing networks. Prioritize reputable companies with transparent terms, reliable tracking, and a history of paying affiliates on time. Avoid offers that rely on misleading download buttons, aggressive redirects, or questionable software, as these can lead to account bans and poor long-term results.

If you're building traffic from SEO, content marketing, communities, or email lists, consider comparing PPI against CPA, lead generation, or software affiliate programs. In many cases, these models provide more stable earnings, better user experiences, and lower platform risk over the long term.
