Still matters !!!! Off page SEO, especially quality and niche-relevant backlinks, is what separates sites stuck on page 3 from the ones dominating page 1. On-page is your foundation, but off-page is the fuel. I’ve seen clients skyrocket in tough niches just from a smart backlink strategy.

Authority signals from external sites carry serious weight. The difference now is that Google cares way more about who is linking to you and why. Random backlinks or spammy guest posts won’t cut it anymore.
 
It is, but it got a lot harder. From my experience, mix guest posts, editorial mentions, social shares, directory listings and even podcast appearances so your backlink profile looks natural.
