    Hello.

I confess I am new to PPC.
    Very new.

But I've read some PPC/adwords stuff ebooks and I think I get some idea what its all about and decide to take the theory that I learn from those ebooks into practical.

I am trying to promote about health and fitness niche, and I plan to start now.

But as you all now, Christmas is just several days more...

Do you think its the best time to start a ppc campaign on these niche?

Or I should be doing something else or I should wait?

    Any opinion are appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Give it a try.

It's pretty easy to measure the return on PPC campaigns.

The holidays are always tricky for PPC. Traffic can spike or plummet, and the same goes for conversion rates. It just depends on your niche and your messaging. If you're going full throttle on PPC during the holidays, I would at least recommend some holiday-related messaging (ie. "Special Christmas promotion!")

With health and fitness, I could see: 1) higher traffic/conversion rates out of preparation for low activity and feasting, 2) lower traffic/conversion rates as people know they are being naughty right now and assume they can deal with it later, 3) some combination of the two

For looking at seasonal traffic, Google trends/insights is your friend. For conversion rates, you can test the above premises by randomly varying your messaging

    Good luck to ya

I started ppc last year at this time. I focused on seasonal niches, shopping, email submits ect. My biggest issue/mistake when I started out was tracking. I use prosper 202 now. Not sure how everyone else here feels about it but it works for me and its free.

    How you measure it?

How much money spent vs how much sales?

Thanks... what I am afraid to happen is the no 2.
But as the cookies is 30 days?
Maybe I still get commissions? No?

    Tracking?
Doesn't adword provide tracking with google analytics?

Well if it's #2, then you yes you'll have lower CR, but the traffic will be lower too. That means you won't lose as much money. This of course assumes you don't adjust bids at all, which of course you would.

Cookies usually last 30 days but they may be shorter. I think during the holidays, Amazon's only last a day or two.

But since you're new to PPC and have a lot of concerns, no biggie in waiting 2 more weeks before you launch.

Its always ok to do PPC, but you gotta know what your doing. It could be a big risk, plus watch out on your competitor on some keywords because they could possibility just bid you out so you stay away from it.

I am getting excellent ROI on WSJ offers from CJ for a client whose campaign I am managing.

I thing this is the best time to start.

    Thanks

Tracking202 or Prosper202 can track your conversion rate and how much you spend on PPC. It will show you if a campaign is profitable or if it is losing you money.

I watched the latest video from amish and he talked about the pillars. adwords, yahoo/msn etc... He then talked about ppv and said joing. Invest a few dollars etc...

I signed up not even realizing you have to invest up front $1000 minimum.

Othere avenues you can expore are the main 3 search engines along with facebook, myspace etc...

Should do just fine with those.

Personally, I see PPC as instant traffic and business. It's a great addition to your overall marketing strategy. If you have the money I would start now but make sure you start slow with a small budget until you get used to it. Good Luck! :D
