Search term "How to get rid of ____________." I own domain name: "How to get rid of ____________.NET" - This site is staying on page 3 bing & yahoo. Nothing on Google. 6 weeks now. Competioton incloudes WIKI how and yahoo answers... 6600 searches per month for exact match keyword. web site is 6 pages, 1000 words per page. Not many back links. I got a few in yahoo answers... and a 2 youtube videos... thats it.

I thought this would be an easy one, WTF??????????

In case you have any instance of the exact 6 word match in your html (in title or headings or content), I would advice removing them immediately and watching the ranking over the next week or so. If you have been penalized for over-optimization, your rankings will move up. You can then tweak the keyword density based on feedback from SERPs

IMHO, new EMDs have lost their ranking power. You are better off with a partial match brandable domain.

EMDs no longer get the ranking boost they used to. The domain itself doesn't matter until it was penalized in the past. I think that YouTube and Yahoo Answers are both Nofollow if I remember correctly. You need links if you want to rank.

EMDs have less value for google than they have for Yahoo&Bing. If you want to rank on G, get some quality do-follow backlinks.

I suggest niche relevant guest posts with some low OBL blog comments in your niche.
