    .

Just wondering if having a blog on a domain + multiple others on a subdomain is good/bad/neither?

I have one currently....mostly using CC, and am thinking of adding more related blogs on subdomains.

    Would the Sub-Domains Rank Well?

If one gets de-indexed will they all for being on same IP?

any thoughts on this would be great!

    thanks

I was wondering about this too.

I was wanting to do this so I can create multiple wordpress blogs that target a particular keyword related to my niche.
for example: make a page targeting "chocalate" , and make another page targeting "chocolate candy"

Anyone have any thoughts on how this will affect your SEO?

It depends, If you treat them all as seperate blogs then it is pretty bad but if you treat them all as blogs which are interconnected to the main blog then its fine

thanks mark9510, but what do you mean by interconnecte?
do you mean that the pages are related to the rest of your domains content?

and by seperate what do you mean?

take a look at technicnews.com that is an interconnected blog because the pages link to other blogs on the blog network treating each blog as a blog of the technicnews news network. But if each blog is under its own topic and has no association to the domain name then they are seperate. Sorry if im not clear enough

If they are autoblogs it is risky, since if one gets banned they all risk getting banned. So its a question whether lowering the costs for domains, is worth the risk of getting multiple autoblogs banned. If you are going to do it I would limit it to no more than 5 subdomains.

Now if these are straight up sites, then this is how google would like it, basically if you have enough good content to give you a reason to use subdomains - 25+ pages per subdomain then that should be fine.

Otherwise just lump it all into one domain and use categories.

I have done it. One main domain with other 9 sub domains. They got indexed and made some money too, not much though. They all hosted on the same hosting account. But later i realized that i would have made much more if i invested in separate domain name and real articles. After a while i took time to write well crafted articles myself and everything turned to white hat method. Now, i've discovered that you get more clicks with shitty content. That's a confirmation to what i've heard and didn't believe it.
