Is "keyword1 keyword2" same thing with "keyword1.keyword2" in the eyes of google ?

I have a little dilemma, I have added a dot instead of space between my keywords and google showed me same amount of searches/ month but different competitions for each key phrase

SO basicly i`m saying that "keyword1 keyword2" has high competition, and "keyword1.keyword2" has almost none but same amount of searches , can this be true ?

Can I rank in front of the others if I promote my "dotted" keywords? instead of those with space?

Who has some experience with this ?
