Is it worth starting from scratch with Affiliate?

I mean starting a blog from scratch, writing content and building it up, is it worth doing?

I've been in SEO and Web Design for most of my career but never bothered with affiliate, is it worth getting a domain and just starting to write?

I've got a niche in mind or more of a micro niche, some big hitters in there too but enough keywords to go round, would just be awesome to hear if it's worth it and some results?

It's definitely worth it! Once your site ranks for targeted review buyer keywords, you will be blessed!
It can take time though and this a lot of patience is required with blogging. Many people give up in one year without any revenue.

It is always worth doing work in comparison to remaining idle. If you are loaded, ignore this.
I'm far from loaded haha. I've got my main income and work roles, just thinking of something to add to the income.

It's something I've thought of for a while, but always worried that I wouldn't get it off the ground!

I understand and it's absolutely fine to have such thoughts at the beginning but once you see some sales, you will run like crazy from there.
My plan was to get a domain either expired (If I can find one in the niche) or new and just target as much low-competition stuff as I can, cover every area of the niche until I get some sales and reinvest in links and stuff!

Sounds like a great plan but I would strongly suggest you to use a good expired domain. Good luck!

Oh absolutely! The niche I have in mind is maybe more of a micro niche so I either need to find something brandable or niche specific, I'm hoping I can get it off the ground though! Thank you :)

Still worth it but option closing out. Most big name affiliate program screw you buy shaving sales. Always read reviews online of affiliate programs before promoting anything.
Example I noticed search engine journal - a well known seo blog have suddenly stopped promoting fiverr and have now gone full adsense. I am pretty sure fiverr records very few sales than actual.

Thank you for your reply.

I've found an Affiliate in my niche who offers 20% commissions along with a couple of others at the same price. I'm thinking of picking a main one and writing. If they shave sales or close, just swapping the affiliate links out for another provider.

I will start reading some reviews though!

Also check competitor sites, are they doing affiliate if so which affiliate, or adsense, email optin or selling product, services.

It seems a lot of the sites in the niche are direct sellers as opposed to others doing affiliates, could that be an issue?

Yes, that means in your niche affiliate programs don't pay and google rewards ecom sites with higher rankings.

It's worth it if you have a solid strategy coming in

What I do is I reverse engineer affiliate competitors

How?

I find their low keyword difficulty kws and create content that is
- longer
- has more pictures
- more useful internal links
- more comprehensive using 'related questions' technique
- more numerous (more posts per blog)

I've found an affiliate program at 20%, did some research into reviews and stuff and it seems a decent option, only issue is I need to find another program for other products in my niche as this one doesn't stock everything.

If Google are rewarding ecom sites with higher rankings, does that mean it's not worth doing?

That seems like a quality strategy to be honest and something I will adopt.

Quite a few blogs in the niche too so reverse engineering them all will help.
