How long does it take/did it take you to start earning a profit from running a food blog? (or it could be any other blog tbh)

I'm unsure if it's worth paying the monthly fees for running the website domain if it'll take years to make money off it.

food blogging can be profitable but it is highly competetive, best to look at the best food blogs and find a way to do it better. I'd get a video theme and make youtube videos and add theme to the site alongside a youtube channel

A blog is suppose to be a second tear for most, but as blogging got so popular it can be used as a main income.

people say , after the 350th blog i started to earn a income from adsence.

that a blog with a link pointing to the money page.

Blogging is the source of traffic in my eyes grate blogs pointing to money page.

saying that if you can create blogs that can give you a income as a blog well done must be very hard.

i suspect earning good cash from a blog will be a blog that self grows of a well known subject in the food niche like "diabetic remedies"

it really depends on your traffic source, if you plan on using google's organic search then you'll have a long road ahead of you.

but if you plan on using social media, paid ads etc. then you don't have the same limits and it can definitely become a successful venture pretty quickly (if you know what you are doing) since you are not necessarily competing with the rest.

i have a blog in a very competitive niche that gets traffic from twitter, since i know how to get a lot of followers fast i get a lot of traffic to my website and the fact that my niche is popular is a huge plus, if i had to rely on google i wouldn't be able get the same amount of traffic as quickly.

so again, it really depends on your traffic source.

OP if you useful responses then you should ask better questions.

I think, if you doing this kind of niche, you need to look at it in a way people get help from the food you write about.

this makes sense that way there endless sub category to go on.

Care you share that method please ?

As zsimpson22 said " Is it worth it to you " is a good point, so many people i come across that have started blogs just to make money, only to drop the idea. Blogging is a long term commitment with lots of research and writing along with promotion. If you have no love for the subject then you'll get bored quickly and give up. If you love cooking then yes, it can be a good thing. Do what you are passionate about, be prepared to work hard and you'll succeed. Research - write - promote - commit = Success

Thanks for all your replies, I've been thinking whether to stop it for the past few days now.

Does anybody know an approximate amount of monthly sessions it would take to earn some good money on your site through adsense? The past month I've had 859 (according to Google Analytics), which is from Twitter and Instagram. I'm not sure whether that is good or bad as I've only ad the site for a few months.

it depends on the amount of followers you have... 859 session from how many followers? the amount of sessions is also a false metric to use for the amount of money you'll get... since it changes according to the quality of ads and visitors you get...

but i can tell you right now that 900 session a month is very low, you should be getting that amount per day to get a decent amount cash from ad-sense.

you need to grow your followers on twitter and instagram, that's what you should be focusing on.

It would probably be better if I posted original content every day, but it take a lot of time to do that so I've been doing one every few days to a week.

Spend a day writing and schedule posts, that will give you time and take off the pressure. I schedule posts a week in advance so i have time to write and research

yep, you definitely need a lot of fresh content if you're getting traffic from social media, you can find content you like online and rewrite it in your own words, that works for me.

also, people on social media really like top 10 lists. it's easier to write, and it keeps them engaged.

Everyone has a food blog... or at least that's what it seems like. Why do people always make blogs in competitive niches?

Forget google forget all of them.

you need to invest in social media applications to get the traffic that needed to get you a return in money.

you need the following.

vps (to run social programs and not leave footprints.)
private proxies (your need these to setup any multiple accounts in the application you buy.)
social accounts (your need these to add to the application to get the account going usually buy these on here.)
de capture service(you need this as some accounts spring up security words and this deals with it within the program you get.)
indexing service(some application need indexing service....)

your looking at $80 a month to be honest some times more.

the more accounts you want to go for to get the traffic the more it cost in adding more private ip's and re ordering accounts.

the idea behind it all ,is you use a application to run from a vps 24/7,with the niche your in, for a long time then you send the followers you getting your website link to get the traffic = cash.

some ppl try this method at home on there pc/laptop first but it more slower but still works.

the return is cash , we send the traffic to other traffic collectors or direct to products....

if the above was done via google it take years trust....(but google way is the best way as it a slower process but becomes a better income and future proof

You have serious productivity issues if you can't get a post out everyday. If you're passionate about your subject, you can probably pound out 1200 words in an hour.

I'm going to do that tomorrow and schedule as many as I can then see if my website views go up.

I don't know what indexing is but I do all the other stuff. I've got about 150k followers across 8 accounts in my niche which I can direct to my site plus I'm growing and creating Twitter accounts as well.
