I'm trying to get some decent backlinks for my company site, the company isn't too big and only national.
Just want to know if anyone had tried this and if it worths the effort since creating a page on Wiki is quite time-consuming.

Yes, it's valuable.
It builds authority for your site + the link is powerful as well.

How do you go about doing one as I tried before and got blocked for spamming? I only put 2 links on. Am I doing something wrong?

Did you get promoted to autoconfirmed user (>4 days old and has at least 10 edits)? And I guess the writing part must be very tricky too, if not they will think it's spam.

Yes, it can give a good exposure and credibility to your business.

It is worth building on your page. If your page fits to share the information from Wikipedia is a must and should considerable one. If it is not relevant, maybe it's useless for the further up. It entirely depends on the content of the page and what's your business.

Yes , Wikipedia backlinks are are extremely valuable and give you authority.
If you can't get a page up there, add a blog to your business website and get a backlink to a post and see the power of it.
I got one as a review copy to one of my blog from a seller here and it's doing good.

Wikipedians will remove non-notable content, particularly attempts to market non-notable products via Wiki pages.

There are other, better ways to market your product.
