Last night went to buy chocolates for friend's birthday ! I just said the name and the shopkeeper gave me the pack and i paid the bill and went to the party and all went well ! morning i opened Facebook and it started showing up the exact chocolate i have bought last night same size package ! the chocolate brand is not available in my country its a imported chocolate ! So FB listens to our convo ? or they steal data from my bank statements and read the shops where i paid ?

They Do Steal Data And Yes The Google Maps And All of That stuff sends data to Google and then they will design your feed according to that data my advice is to buy a pixel phone would cost around 400$-500$ then you can degoogleize your phone

Don't fight it. Learn to live with it.

If you have an Android there is plenty of mic/camera blocking apps you can use when you don't need them. Also, opt out of all marketing services.

Ads about products is fine ! but I can see lots of propaganda messages in FB ,I dont see that in twitter or Instagram
Most of people in my country use whatsapp if FB is stealing this data whats the guarantee that FB steal all our personal data from mobile phone and data / message shared in whatsapp also not safe !
 
It happend me on different pc and phones. Now it feels normal and I dont mind it. I even tell other people that everything is monitored and the harder you try to hide the harder they track you. If you wanna have a private conversation the best way to do it is naked in the middle of sea (maybe even there we are not 100% safe) :D

Well Whatsapp is also ran by Meta so ..
 
How do you think
whenever you say "Hey Siri" and "Hey Google" or "Hey Alexa" they know you are speaking to it.
They are listening 24/7 for starters.
Also, the amount of data being tracked and stolen on your phone & it's apps is ridiculous regardless which brand or OS you are using

Blackhatworld users, me included have been posting and discussing these type of things last year, It has became a second nature to me by now, It no longer bothers me, lol.

although i instantly delete facebook apps after I login to check something sometimes, because that app uses so much battery life and it keeps running on the background annoyingly showing me notifications 24/7, but it is not facebook alone either!. yeah facebook might be using way too much and unshamingly but all other big corp Sites/Apps use it too.

Google was my concern at that time, But as i said. I just wonder what kind of world will our children and their children live in ? (It is almost like a movie life "High tech Alien life where everything is automated and Being Controlled By Big Whoever").

For sure I have had similar experiences. I was scared to the point where I removed fb app as well as messenger. Then I stopped using android and switched to ios. Guess what? No more targetted ads after that. p.s. I don’t use fb/messenger app on ios either. I only view message from desktop, and use safari for browsing fb on mobile.
 
Dude, they are listening to us and there is nothing we can do about it. I have experienced this "mic listening -> super narrow ads" thing a dozen times.

They don't "steal" data. They "gather" information that you unknowingly "allow" them to collect about you.

They likely didn't "listen" to your convo, but inferred that you were into that brand of chocolate from several other sources.

You probably don't recall it now but you prolly mentioned that brand of chocolate somewhere. Either in your Google searches, or in facebook messenger or someone in your Facebook's friends network mentioned that brand of chocolate somewhere.

Facebook has gotten so good at inferring this sort of info that it has begun to feel creepy.

Welcome to the age of digital marketing. It's all tracked and sold to marketers. Convos, expenses, loyalty program data, credit card purchases, what stores you shop at, GPS locations...

That's interesting because I use Android and I haven't recieved that creepy targeted ads yet.

I, however remember exactly what I mention and where I mention it. I am always on incognito on the internet and don't use any social media on my phones.

The most targeted I get are about things I have made google searches about from a non-incognito tab.

Personally I have never encountered something like this myself. Either the algorithms hate me or my actions stop it from happening.

This is not the scary part ! Scary part is FB is showing me some propaganda ! For example if i view some 10 posts out of 10 ,3 will be some propaganda post praising some political party and shown under sponsored posts ! so they give the data to state and federal agencies if you share or something against the local and federal political parties which is more scary ,i think its time to quit FB and all FB owned products ,Google is 10000x times more ethical compared to FB

It is damn hard to reproduce for sure. Does not always happen (even tried saying keywords just to trigger such an ad.. Nothing happened), but when it does, it is scary as hell.
