Looking for an advice from people who use firefox profiles to manage multiple ebay and paypal accounts. Is it safe to access ebay and paypal through each firefox profile with a different private proxy attached to each firefox profile? Do I need to clear flash cookies or each profile stores them in a different location?

I use the method for FB for weeks.
I think it depends on the proxies you use, whether their IPs are blacklisted or suspicious or not.
I do clear all before changing profiles.

I'd recommend to change useragent also. Just incase.

You will never be sure if the IP is clean for paypal/ebay or not. I mean this IP may have been involved in paypal/ebay scams that might get your account/s banned.

Interesting idea, which also saves time switching Windows user accounts.

My main concern is LSO cookies (flash). I've read somewhere, that despite having several FF profiles, all the flash cookies are stored in a central location?

I was also thinking of using VirtualBox, but not sure if it's efficient when going from one account to the other.

OP - it's better to keep the unique cookies in the profile, although it probably won't do any harm clearing them.

It's more than just cookies...user agent, plugins (not extensions), etc
    Run this and see: https://panopticlick.eff.org/

There are plugins for everything you need to change though.
For flash cookie management use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/
Search that plugin site for everything else you need :p
Every time you install a plugin you should go into its settings and go over every option. The default settings are normally not ideal.

Also, uninstall firefox and only use multiple portable versions http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

One portable installation per proxy/eBay/PayPal account, and install plugins like what I mentioned so each has different browser fingerprints.
This is being over-the-top but it's the best way.
