I was wondering if it's possible to sell SEO services by phone only? I'm asking because all of the large SEO business in my country have a big sales team that calls to get a meeting, and then they sell the service. But I live in a very small area, and all the companies are in the city and it's to far from where I live.

A lot of people here are selling their services without meeting the client. SEO, Web Design, etc... etc... You just have to build a strong portfolio and have some good reviews.

If its a million $ company then they will definetely approach to someone, they can meet easily. If its someone with xxxx$ per month budget then fone is enough.
And if its about xxx$ things then a BHW BST and PM system is more than enough.

    100% You can.
If you feel you are good at SEO you can even come up with a BST in BHW :)

Thanks so much for all your answers, it's really encouraging! :)

I want to take the same root as the established SEO companies do, where they charge on a monthly basis. I have great references, and my company is ranking very good for several keywords that is related to the PPC/SEO services.

Where I will be charging between 400$ and 2000$ a month, depending on keywords/competition of course. Is this possible though only phone/email prospecting?

Yes, communication through phone and email would be enough but you need to sound reliable and trustworthy while making the transaction.

Selling SEO services without meeting clients is possible. It's what we did on BHW everyday :D However, if you are selling to offline market you should better have good selling experience otherwise you are wasting your time.

This really depends on who you're selling to. In some niches the business owners are very old school and really want to meet with you. So, obviously avoid those. Some niches are more progressive and have no problem dealing with people via phone or e-mail (on some cases they might even prefer that).

The main figure of selling any services without faces is trust. Imagine if you got a call from a company which tells you all the plan and the promises they are willing to sell is more reliable when getting an email also you dont know if they read ir not. But the key is time, you can send or search much more faster using internet than calling to a single person and telling them all the story.. So the both sides are possible in a good shape, you just need to be good at it

The answer is yes, 100%. One friend of mine doing local SEO, that is the ONLY way he prospects. I think he is just working off of referrals now at this point (another added bonus of that initial effort).

The key IMO is if you are not very good at sales, you will have to be willing to get back up at it and try again if you are struggling in the beginning. Try to learn from any mistakes you are making on the4 prospecting calls, and seek help if you are hitting the same roadblocks over the phone over and over again. If you are determined, and don't give up, you will have success sooner or later.

You can sell anything over the phone. I bought a couple good books on the subject. Amazing techniques..

I have them both. Shoot me a PM and I'll help you out if interested.

EDIT: I've gotten a couple PM's. Cant respond to them til I pass the limit. And the books are Smart Calling: Eliminate the Fear, Failure and Rejection from cold calling by Art Sobczak and Smart Selling on the Phone and Online. Look em up on Amazon and read the reviews.
