Is it, in your personal experience?
It may be possible..but you have to think would you buy such a service?
The first thing people want to see in my experience if if you have done it before and what results have you had.
That said, most SEO companies I compete with show results like #1 for a keyword from 22,000 and that keyword doesn't get any searches!
However it still looks good and a lot of business owners are very niave when it comes to the internet.
Can you do it?
Best thing to do if you have no results to show, Dont ask for fee upfront, Tell them they dont have to pay until you show results, then once you get 2-3 clients under your belt then you have the solid proof.
That's a point, I hadn't thought about ranking myself for rubbish keywords! Thanks very much!
Good idea! That sounds like a good approach. Thanks.
How much do you reckon it would be appropriate to charge a local business?
You are at bhw, how about using some photoshop on some other's work
It is all about asking the right questions of your prospect ... I have a questionnaire that blows away most prospects. Simple fill in the blanks that I go over with them ... and it is not 10 question neither ... more in depth than most use .... don't ask for $ on your 1st meeting ... get the data / crunch it into a plan and then hit them for 4 figures and above at your second meeting because by that time they are sold... ranking your own offline consulting site helps also
I would never buy services from a company that can not show any official accomplished work. You should collaborate with a company that has succesful evidences of their services so you can show your client an official collaboration status of you and the SEO company.
If the SEO company is you then you should show them evidence of your skills.
yeah, you would probably need traffic stats, etc to make a sale or like xplicit said you can give them a trial.
I agree, but there are a lot businesses online being run by computer illiterate businessmen and useless MBAs, so it is possible to sell your services without proof.
Yes, you can absolutely sell seo offline without examples. Start with local companies and easy terms and you''ll soon have some examples. At the end of the day, if you initially concentrate on the small business owner market, your seo knowledge will seem vast when talking to the average prospect.
You can sell anything to anyone.
you just have to know which buttons to push.
People love to buy but they hate being sold to.
Implant the dream in them and they will be buying.
With no data and no customer testimonials to back up your word it would be best if you used a pay-per performance model to start off with. Then once you start showing results you may want to move to a monthly fee plus service charges.
It is possible but at some point you will need to produce results. I took on jobs then learned how to do it. Remember everyone starts out as a novice.
Its easy to show results, especially if this is what your going to do. I have registered a long tail or local city keyword and thrown up a wordpress...did some backlinks, basic SEO and walla im on the first page. This can done totally free with .co.cc and free web hosting too.
Show them these and thats really all you'll need.
How do you guys do it if you are a very bad seller? Personally I was planning on hiring sales reps but it's always good to have different opinion.
NO NO SELLING.....ask them about what they have, do they like it and what would they want. From that point explain, in basic terms, on how you can increase there current traffic by getting them onto the first page for google. And I also make them a guarantee of if there not on the first page in 30 days then i would work free after that until they are...Make sure you do the right keyword research and this wont be a problem.
What type of software package would you guys recommend?
Really would appreciate it if you could share your killer questionaire.
It's not only possible. I'd say that makes up a good majoryt of the industry.
Who else wants to be #1 for Orange Monkey Keychains?!
Separate names with a comma.
