Is there any statistics how often it happens, can we predict what month it should roll out next time?

you can't predict that. but google is going to roll more updates in a year than it used to. you can check the seo forums about more info . moz , seroundtable , etc

Statistically, right before rent is due.

    True story.

    haha your not wrong there!
the history matches up in some places with major google updates.
Penguin 3.0 on oct 17th for example or penguin 2.0 around may.

Well based on the fact that these updates are happening more and more frequently I don't think we can match up the next updates.

Just make sure your link profiles are in order now, so that the future updates aren't a problem.

    Did you miss it?

About 3 weeks ago, in one of his Webmaster Hangouts, Google's John Mueller said: "The next penguin wipeout will be on March 13 this year - it coincides nicely with other updates we had to do, so we've rolled it all into one".
