    Hi guys!

Sorry if this question has been asked (did a search but couldnt find exact answers).

    Background info

    • I am in Canada
    • I have a Canadian address on my credit card
    • I've never advertised on facebook, but I already have two facebook pages registered (dummy names with dummy pages to test out their ad tools. No real ads placed yet).

    What I need
    • I want to advertise on facebook using an American account. (Facebook provides americans with advertising metrics that are not available to international advertisers)

    Questions
    1. Is it possible to open an American account from overseas?
      • If so, some guidelines to avoid getting banned would be appreciated.
    2. What are the consequences of getting banned should it happen? Will it make it difficult to advertise in the future ?

    Thanks

I don't know if FB has special treatment for Canada, being so close and tied with the US and all, but far as I know, no you can't open a US based account outside the US.

Instead of going through all this trouble, you can always buy accounts. There's a few people selling them in the marketplace.

I plan on using the account to advertise on FB so I would need to link my credit card or paypal to those bought accounts, which i'm not really comfortable with.

Also if its possible to use a 'bought' USA account while i'm in canada, then theoretically I should also be able to simply make a US account myself and use it. (i've not been banned from FB ... yet)
I'm just trying to figure out what i'm going to need so I don't get banned.

    Game-plan

    1. Private dedicated proxy to use with ip switcher.
    2. Use facebook on separate browser away from my normal browsing, and clean cookies often (including the sneakier LSO cookies)
    3. Set up a paypal account so i can fund advertising without need to directly link a Canadian CC (doubt facebook gonna peek into my paypal to see where the funding card is from).
    4. Buy a temporary US number to use in-case facebook wants to do a phone verification

Any other stuff someone can suggest? I really don't have much experience with facebooks bans so I'm not sure how they monitor people.

    Thanks

You can definitely open an account as from US, just use a proxy that's located within us. You might need an us address /payment method as well though.
