I've been listening to brian johnson talk about how he has lauched a new site and its ranked in the top 20 of google within 2 weeks of it being launched, now the site is run buy a wordpress plugin called wp answers, now when i checked the site out is has 18 baclinks to the link domain but this guy claims that the site got to that position without any links in the first place, what i want to know is have any of your guys had these types of results?

from my own testing, i have found that google eats up new sites, especially blogs, at first. give it about 3 weeks and the site will get sand-boxed and have a huge drop in rankings.

it is completely to rank a new site quickly.

depending on how aggressive you are, sometimes your rankings will drop initially, but as long as you keep at it, they will come back.

Especially easy to do as a subdomain of an already established site, like blogger.com.

it is possible, everything depends on the competition, i pushed 2 of my clients to top3 in G in less than a month with about 10 handmade backlinks + scrapebox - that app makes the stuff really easy

it is possible, especially if phrasematch competition is small; I just wonder how that guy did it quickly, but it is really possible

From what I have been told, subdomains are actually rated separately from their domain. So XXX.yy.com, could have a PR of 0, while yy.com could have a PR of 8. Additionally, when there is not much competition, it's much easier to get to the top of search engines.

By this I mean, mmoaccountsales.com. We have been pushing this domain since October, and for the keywords "WoW Accounts" it's currently jumping back and forth on page 5/6 of google. So far in total, it has roughly 75k-100k back links. It's much harder for the keywords "WoW Accounts", to get to page 1, or for that matter page 2.

A keyword like "WoW Accounts" is going to have a lot of competition around it as well as a lot of activity around it. The more activity around a keyword, the harder it is to secure a solid ranking and keep it.

The best way to do it is build from the bottom up i.e. go after keywords that are variations of your main keyword and link those to your main site.

It's certainly possible. Just make sure you're consistent with your link building efforts.
