If you are the who made $$$$ from freelancing sites, how much you made in a month? & how did you bag your very first project?

Depends on your skills, when you start you need to bid low so you can get as much as project and reviews, then you can raise your prices. It required lots of hard work, its not that easy.

Lots of threads made on bhw on the topic...I'll sum it up for you. Build up your profile (fill out every field you can), take cheap jobs to build your rating/reviews, after a few months you'll be doing bigger numbers than when you just started.

Some guys make big money, depends on how hard and how smart you are willing to work.

First of all, take tests that are relevant to your category(to be chosen by you).
Make sure you are ready for the tests. They are pretty easy and doable;)
Build up your profile correctly. Do not leave anything out.
Put up a profile picture that looks smart and professional. Remember to use your personal picture.
You also have options to go for verified accounts that actually have spent some money on Upwork. You do not want to waste time bidding on projects that just get recycled.
All in all, it sure is a fun way to sell your skill and make some legit money.
Also, talking about money; please make sure you read their terms and conditions especially the part "re:tax forms" that has to be filled.
Lastly, be sincere and always research properly. People love sincere accounts.
Cheers...

it think if you have good talent and you think you can stand up there try some freelancer contests and if that deosn't work out then try to bid on projects in sites like upwork cause it needs portfolio

Hi

First take the cheap jobs and build up your profile. After you get good rating like 6.0 then your awarded jobs will be increased. Anyway hard work is main in any field.

i think you should start up with freelancing sites with less competitions like freelancer have high competition then upwork is little less than it like that find freelancing sites with less competition

Well, it will depend on your skills and how much demand is out there for those skills.

I think that any freelancer with real skill can easily rake in a lot of cash but that's all dependent on how much effort they put in.

That being said, in the end if you're always chasing projects, you will always be creating cash flow.

Yes you can earn money but you need to be great at what you do and to understand it's a dog eat dog world on there at times with people under cutting on rates.

Depends on How smart you work... But when starting out you want to make your rate comes low when you have enough reviews then you can always increase your charge rate.

Also try as much much as possible to work on jobs that wouldn't consume you that much as to always take more jobs monthly

Yah why not. But it would depend on ur skill. But at first you have to make some reviews which is little bit difficult at first. You would need patience.

Sign up - complete your profile with real data -
Apply on jobs related to your skills - first come first serve is better here as nobody wants to read every application for a simple task - build your profile with 5 stars reviews - the older you get the more people will contact you personally to hire - its all about quality and hard work in the start.

i heard that many guys who started newly submit fake reviews to their profile so based on that they bag their 1st project, is that true?

It depends on your niche and your skill set. Are you able to do complicated tasks? Are you ready to study?
Soft skills are also of high importance as you will need to communicate with the clients and negotiating.
Good luck to you!

some big ballers make huge amounts its all in the hard work
