I would like to know is it possible to earn a decent income selling article? I read in a forum one guy claiming he is earning a full time income selling articles. He said on the thread that he does not write a single article, he outsource all his article from places like i-writer and then proofread the article by the help of an editor. He hire the editor from places like o-desk. He spend about $3-$4 for 500 words on i-writer and pays about $1.50-$2.00 to the editor for proofreading the article. He sell those article on forum , different content mills and selling to local SEO companys.

After reading his thread I tried to implement some of his methods he mentioned, like paid posting on forum but I didn't get respond except 1 guy who is a freebie seeker. I outsource 1 article and gave to him but since then I never heard anything from him. I also tried approach to few SEO companys I know whether they interested to buy article from me but they refuse on the spot. So I would like to know does this methods of outsourcing article and then sell it at higher price still works in 2014?

In the world of SEO, the demand for fresh articles has gone way up, especially in the past couple of years. Outsourcing is an art. It's not as simple as buying it for low and selling them for high. You need to rinse and repeat them until you get some experience. You also need to lay out a solid marketing plan to get the exposure.

If I can give one tip for you, Try to provide a unique service instead of copying from others. The more and more google fine tuning their algorithm, they're getting hungry and wants more unique content to digest and give the deserved authority to your buyer's sites. So try to create a service and sell articles that has lots of details within it, like a Wikipedia page and I bet you'll bank!

High quality long articles (2000+ words) can sell for a very high price if you find the right clients. However, it is a lot more difficult to outsource, than short 500 word articles, and it also costs you a lot more to buy in the first place.

If you can find a provider that provides good long articles for a decent price, you could probably make a lot off it though. Clients who look for great articles that are 2000-5000 words long are very different from clients who look for 500 words articles (usually for as little as possible), since they are looking for a premium article, they are willing to pay a premium price for it.

Elance and odesk. In that order. IM forums also work, there are always some people who do really well, and are willing to pay a lot for quality content. And with this kind of article service, you don't need anywhere near as many clients as with 500 word articles. However, remember that almost nobody is willing to pay a premium for articles written by somebody completely unknown. If you can deliver premium articles, people will be willing to pay for it. But you need to establish yourself as a source of these kinds of articles first. If you deliver, you will get referrals too.

Long articles with great content are very valuable though. You might consider building an authority site and monetize your articles in this way over time, instead of selling them for a one time fee.

Some people prefer to sell their articles since they don't have to worry about google animals hitting their sites, but if your site does well, you can earn a lot more from it than you do from selling your articles.
