The question is should I even try if I want to build a mega huge authority site with wordpress? cuz that's what I know best.
An example for a major website is http://www.askmen.com/ which is huge

I have no clue about css programing etc' I'm just good in making quality & interesting content
and will monotize it with adsense at the beginning and later on add CB and Amazon + CPA offers and building an email list the goal is to make a long lasting income with diff streams of incomes within one year.

The plan is to add content on a daily basis and I find it easy to work with wordpress for that.

You guys should know better. But I'll make a journey thread on whitehat section with that site.

Another option is to start small and if needed [based on load time and bandwidth scores] to hire someone to make it like askmen.com

Thank you for your help in advance

Yeah it is possible but frankly for something like askmen I'd recommend Drupal. WP I think is kinda problematic once you have a huge number of posts, especially if you use custom fields and custom taxonomies.

Yes it is very much possible with problem DB management and cache management, you should be able to run a website with more than 100,000 posts, without any issue even on a shared hosting. I ve a couple of such sites and have no issue so far.

In the sandbox. Again.
I'm facing this myself. I believe my authority site has outgrown the capabilities of Wordpress. After a bit of research, I am moving to Drupal. I believe Joomla would be a simpler choice if I did not need one site to perform many different functions.

If I were just a page/post mega site, I would probably reconsider Joomla.

With that said, if anyone out there would like to freelance a few hours in Drupal, please send me a PM.

Sure it is, you can do anything you want (almost) in Wordpress. Drupal is harder, you won't find as many free mods you can find with Wordpress and the freelancer's price will be higher. Also it's easier to write content with Wordpress.

ps: i'm also making authority sites, if you want to see my work just pm me

Wordpress plugins: 18840
Drupal plugins: 9913

True, but trust me Drupal modules are 100 times better coded and better integrated than WP ones

I would consider Joomla as it handles large databases quite good and has a great number of plugins.

Sure use wp for the benefits of the big community/updates/plugins around it and if you are worried about performance just just a caching plugin with 24 hours expiry or so.

I wouldn't say so, the last time that I built a Drupal website I searched for a specific module and I couldn't find one exempt of bugs and up to date. But maybe that has changed since

I agree, Drupal would be better but WP is fine as you can see, it can handle big sites like askmen with a lot of traffic.

i found drupal to be alot harder to learn then joomla.
but i think its up to how much time you put into learning it. ive spend alot more time in joomla then WP, so for me, joomla is better the WP, and i think joomla sites look better then WP sites in general.

that being said, i have 1 joomla site, and 4 WP sites.. and its the joomla site that brings in the paycheck.

Any of those systems Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla is good for any type of CMS site. The amounts of ways you can customize your site is unlimited. I'd much rather worry about the speed of site and stability, if you're building a large site then you also intend on bringing in a lot of traffic so you need a server and an optimized site to handle the huge amount of requests. From own experience, heavy customizing WordPress, like a lot of plugins and stuff is a bad idea, it slows down your site significantly. I'm currently running 2-3 plugins to help optimize the speed and it's still not as fast or even close as a standard site.
