well i want to reach the top spot of a good keyword.

wikipedia is there and marketsamurai says it has 40 BLP and 57500000 BLD
it is a PR4 and everything is optimized for my targeted keyword except the description.

    what do you think?
can the first position to be realistically reached?
can wikipedia to be beated in this case?

    it is possible of course
    but not easy
your content should at least twice as better than wiki (which is hard)

I remember seeing an article once on how to outrank Wikipedia when they're ahead of you for a keyword. I'll see if I can find it.

i know. but on this specific subject they have just that page and direct backlink to that specific page is only around 40!
this is the reason of my question...i can get 40000 backlinks to a whole website about the same keyword with a lot of articles...why would wikipedia still be on the first spot and not me?

It's not that hard if your website description and your pages title are optimized for the keywords you want to rank + even if wikipedia article's page has pr7 you can beat it in the serp because PR has nothing to do with it.
And minimo88 WTF are you talking about? (your content should at least twice as better than wiki (which is hard) ) ??? Is google has some workers who read articles and choose which one should rank higher?:D

It should actually be pretty easy to beat wikipedia because they are not ranked the same as normal websites in Google.

If your niche is not overly competitive it is possible. Of course it's better if you have the keyword as your domain, strong on-page SEO, and relevant backlinks but I've seen good results even without that many backlinks. Either way, wikipedia isn't your main competition because they aren't selling anything (I'm assuming you are) so even if you're in the top 5 for a keyword that people are actively seeking a product for, you should be in a good position.

Its quite possible seeing that it only has 40 backlinks to that page. Check what backlinks it has try use them and get some more. Make a better article than the one on wiki and you will probably outrank them.

I agree with this. So even if you are at #2, CTR will not be an issue for you.
