I have a guy on skype who has been in the youtube game for a long time and he told me not too long ago that some bigger youtubers actually pay people to mass flag competitor's videos and that results in losing rank . Yesterday I uploaded a video and bought some views for it . At 20 000 views the video was already ranked for 8 of the keywords I used , 2 of them high-volume . I contacted my views provider and purchased even more , faster views and now all of a sudden after I woke up the video went from 19 000 to 30000 views in 6 hours and all this is HR btw 98%+, BUT somehow the video was only ranked for two keywords that I used and one of them was my channel name and the other was a medium competition keyword and my rank for that one actually went down 5 places . Other than that after 6 months I pretty much have youtube figured out and I now know exactly what I can rank for with X views and what I should rank for that people search . I can control all of that now, it is no longer a gamble but this situation that happened right now is kind of confusing and stupid . I really don't know whether it is youtube or someone mass reporting my videos. And if reporting videos actually causes them to lose rank that would be a huge failire on youtube's end. I see boosting your own videos with views and likes fair game ( as long as not too many people know about it or have good providers ) simply because it gives smaller channels a chance to shine without having to build an audience for years during which time god knows what will happen, but being able to "eliminate" your competition by unranking them , that is a HUGE failire and completely unfair. The person on skype told me that the reporting method only works on smaller channels, if you had 1M subs and was getting 200K views per video, someone can mass report you as much as he wants and nothing will ever happen to your rank but if this is true youtube needs to do something about it.
