Can they know if you've posted it on your own site or on another blog for example? Or like adult sites etc.

And is it the same with ALL affiliate programs - Commission Junction, whatever else etc.

Do the affiliate programs only detect the affiliate link and nothing else?

look up "Referrer URLs". It can be hidden, but if you are just posting the affiliate link on your site or blog or whever, then yes, they probably know where the traffic originated.

I see thanks. But what would the referrer URL be if it came from an email campaign?

But can they tell if the click came from an email message/campaign?

I signed up for this program in Commission Junction (an insurance thing), but they don't allow email marketing. So I wanted to know if they could tell whether or not the leads came from my site or email?

I don't want them to know that it came from my email campaign (as that would disqualify me), so what do I do?

If the person was using webmail (such as gmail, or hotmail etc) and they clicked the link, it would show that as the referrer.

You could cloak the link (there are many methods for doing this) so it essentially hides the referrer.

OMG... thank you! You've saved me from getting my CJ account suspended.

I'll just ask the advertiser for permission.

But would CJ question why I hid the referrer and would they withhold my payment for that reason?

Find something else to do for a living. What you are contemplating is fraud, you won't get paid, you will waste your time, and they will ban you.

I know. But isn't this BlackHatWorld? I mean, BlackHat. I don't want to lie, but life is giving me very little choice. I've tried doing things the legitimate way but it never leads to anything good/any success. That's why I have to bend the truth, and it benefits both me and the advertiser, since I'll be getting them traffic and making them money!

I bet they have never thought of it that way.

You should call and tell them.

They will probably give you a reward for helping improve their business.

Hmm... I'm getting judged... on a site called "BlackHatWorld"... where "Black hat" alludes to villains, and where people regularly post about the devious things they do to make money. Hmm... LOL.

I wasn't judging you about being devious.

I think my point went a little over your head.

And BlackHat doesn't allude to villainy either - another thing you have misinterpreted.

I think they don't, because they don't have any control on the website and traffic source, but the vendor, yes

I'm confused. Are you asking if clickbank allows email marketing or commission junction?

While anyone with half a brain can guess the reason you're asking the above question, can you spit out what your plans really are so we could assist you not to do the wrong thing?

Your email list needs to be 'Opt In', so spamming people with your affiliate link will get you banned once the complaints start coming in.
