Is it okay to use only PBN links for blog post links?

you can, and you should! But make sure that the PBN is quality, or else it won't do anything (at best) or even get your site in trouble (at worst).
Also, if you're already ranking on page 2 without backlinks (and assuming that your site is new and has no backlinks yet) that's pretty good and you're doing things right
... You might not need PBN backlinks as these tend to be quite expensive.
I would go with a few foundation links (which are free, but time consuming to create manually, but the option is there if you need it) first... and maybe some social media promotion. These might be enough to boost your blog post to page 1 of google, but yeah, eventually you will need some strong links...

The site is based on a premium expired domain name. There are already 200 or so backlinks from different root domains, but the vast majority point to the homepage.
