hi guys a quick question, I've been into translating articles from English into Spanish with no problems at all. My next project is slightly more adventurous: do you think it's ok to translate a clickbank product (ebook) into Spanish with maybe a touch of spin, new photos etc and then resell it as mine?

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks

pretty unlikely to get caught, however its practically stealing

why not contact the authors and say you will translate and promote their product in Spanish for a % say 50/50?

    more karma

Thanks guys, I think it's "thinking outside the box" more than anything, I mean why re-invent the wheel when it's already in place. In the English market people do it all the time - with the essence of the book in place with a bit of spin along with picture changes i think it'll be cool.

    Definitely infringement of copyright.

I had a few books published several years ago, and some were translated into other languages by other publishers. Those foreign publishers had to pay a flat rate for the right to translate and re-publish the work. The best part was that I got 50% of the foreign rights fee, so every so often I would get a few thousand bucks extra. Sometimes they even sent me a copy of the translated book, which was really neat.

Catalonia, de donde eres tu? Welcome to BHW. I like the way you think. I have been wanting to do the same way. What you are doing in reality is not called out of the box thinking. Its called copying success:D And along the lines of PLR right? If you look at all these people online selling ebooks they just reword here and there and sell it as the next big thing.Pues Catalonia quisiera hablar contigo sobre lo que hases. I feel que the spanish market is a honey pot waiting to be dipped

Thats plain thievery, scam and steal, aint no other words for it.
If you have any decency the last thing you would do is rephrase a product in order to sell it as yours; IMO, pathetic.
Seems to me like a really cheap mentality.

/E: the least thing you could do would be to contact the owner and give him a % of the revenue generated...

Same opinion here man. Plain ol' stealing and nothing else. I mean if a carpenter builds a chair, you wouldnt steal that, repaint it and sell it as yours would you? Same thing.

Contact the author and offer to translate, 70/30 profit in your favor. I bet they'll go for it because they do nothing while you make them money.

    Dont Translate.. rewrite... ;)
Replacing the Pictures is a good Start.
But I personally would read the Book from Start to End, and rewrite it completly in my own Words.

Sure its stealing.. but you are most likely not stealing any of his customers. I would be ok with that. :)

    Seràs català no? :)

Don't do it. Read the book and rewrite it with your own words. Take your own pictures and choose a new title. So you will have a new ebook inspired in the other.
