I have a site which has been sandboxed since new year presumably for hitting it too hard, too fast with xrumer and/or the blog network attack.

Anyhow all those kws have been in the abyss since then.

So I was thinking of taking the content and placing it on a fresh domain.

Would it be ok to just copy and paste it rahter than having to spin/rewrite it?

I know I've ranked 'dupe content' just as easily in the past as unique.

You can use the same content, it will be unique for google, but is possible the content from the sandboxed site to be 1 of the reasons for sandbox.

If its sandboxed , means not in top pages , not moving but indexed . If you move content it will not be unique , you can 301 and tell google that in webmaster tools you are moving then they consider you owner of both and hence it will be OK .

I'm sorry to say this but no, not at all. If you do this it would be duplicate content. Also it would be linked to whatever banned SEO practises you did on the 1st site.

New site - new content. It sucks but that's the way it is.

301 would redirect also backlinks which caused the original ban to new site so it's not good idea. Some have tried redirect to new domain and reported that it worked few weeks, but after that the new site has get penalty which makes sense if the original problem is related to backlinks.

What did you mean by sandbox? What happened with that website exactly?

If it have been drooped under page 15-17 then the best thing you can do is to continue blasting and add some other type of links and in a few month you will see it rising higher.

Sandbox is not a penalty, is not a ban.... Is just a, let's say it, a maturation tools, G drop websites in sandbox to maturate and gain more value, and more important to pass the test of time....

It find something suspicious with that website so it lowers the ranking in SERP if that website continue to be raise by G algorithm that means that the website have something to say and it will continuing rising. If after the drop the website will gain no more links and content this mean that the website is not so good and it will not gain more value it do not deserve to be placed higher.

I hope you understand my point... So, if it will be my website I will continue with what I was doing(if that worked in the past) and add some more content or change a few links and improve the on page SEO.

    Thank you.

Hmm Im thinking tspinning it would be ok...

Anyhow the content was pretty shit anyhow. I paid for it from a certain someone on this site and it was largely engrish gibberish which I had to heavily edit myself.

So I guess Ill just take their research and rewrite them myself.

Hey maybe thats why the site got sandboxed due to the dogshit content :D

what i find is loads of random pages like tags popping up in top 100 while the actual deeplinks are out of the race.

I have been researching this lately and it seems some will say do a redirect and some will say not to. I really wish it could be that easy to just do a 301 redirect, but google cannot be that stupid.

I build an e commerce store with all unique content and hit it with too many backlinks way too fast.

I am definitely sandboxed and have no penalty.

I think I am in the same boat as Ranko. We have a dilemma. We don't want to keep spending money and time building links to a site that may never come out of the pit, but as for my site I don't want to recreate the entire site all over again because E commerce stores are a bitch to put up.

I think I might just keep building links and see if it comes out of it.

Can I really build backlinks to a site for a year before it may or may never come out of the box?

Thats part of the problem I think and I've shared your concerns...ie whether to continue blasting with no surety of a result.

I tried reblasting one of the kws in this sandboxed site. What Inoticed since blasting is the rnadom pages with the kw like tags have been raising in rank but the actual page stays stuck. This is a strong indication of a penalty to the specific page.

What is still uncertain is whether it will 'clear up' one day or not.

At least with a new site altho itll take some extra legwork to setup, so long as that isnt boxed you know that the links are going through so its deciding where to put your efforts. I might do both. Just blast one kw on old site now and then while wokring on creating fresh content and blasting the new one.

Yeah I feel ya. I think the penalties are page specific as well. I have pages with absolutely zero content and no backlinks to them (I accidentally created them in the beginning) and they are ranking on 2nd and 3rd pages. WTF right? THe keywords are actually decent competiveness.

But all other keywords that I blasted are no where to be found.

My site has about 50 unique articles and about 50 products, but I might build another one and still blast this one at least for another 6 months to see what happens. Such a bitch to create a whole new site.

I would say 301 redirect it until google sees that the site has moved. If you're worried about carrying over a penalty than take down the 301 redirect after a period of time and delete the old site. I haven't seen any problems with penalties carrying over on the ones I have done but on sites where I was deindexed it caused my new site to be deindexed about 25% of the time.

After this discussion I too have been encouraged to try and blast my site out of the abyss. The itneresting thing is the rnadom pages like tags seems to be ranking higher and higher. One was 100, 50s, 30s now, still danicng.

I've also had a site or two where I did direct xrumer blasting (this was a long time ago when just elanring :D) which got boxed then I see rnadom pages then evetually when Id almost forgotten about them the original page catapults up in front of the random pages.

I think rather than a penalty its more of a 'sorting mechanism' so if you build ten links it takes G X amount of time to sort the links and your rank and the more links you build is the more wildly it will dance- the extreme being off the charts.

Im actually seeing this with a new site to a smaller extent. Ie the tag is outranking the original but only like 6-10 places after doing an amr blast and xrumer blast on the amr. So I think ill cool off that one for a few days and let it sort through.

Actually I also think that blasting xrumer every day to different kws will sink the whole site as that is what happened to this one site. I guess they pass though to each other and weight down the ship.

Hmm thinking of an analogy- eating food is good for you but if you tried to eat a whole steak in one mouthful without chewing it would prob not be nice. It may go down eventually but it would cause some serious blockage.

    ---

For our purposes tho the quesiton is whether we shuld 'wash down' the backlinks with more backlinks.

I have only been re blasting one or maybe two of the kws (the others havent been resurfacing in any way shape or form that I cna see) and those are the ones that are showing increasing serps for the random pages. So I think that is worth pursuing.
