Suppose I have a site selling dog food, and there is this large dogfood.com site which got a lot of domain name search.

Is it ok for me to advertise my site using 'dogfood.com' as a keyword - resulting in everyone who searching for dogfood.com seeing my ads?

    Any thoughts on this?

It is completely legal from googles point of view...

the times you cannot do that is when you are promoting
an offer from company A... and they don't want you to target
companyA.com or any of their trade marked stuff....
