Hey, im just getting into youtube marketing and have learned a lot over the last few days, but i just have one question that im not sure of.. And as the title says, is it ok to just stuff a load of keywords in the bottom of your description, or should i try to blend them into some text or does it matter?

    Thanks :)

lol i used to overly stuff my descriptions with keywords but i realized it didn't really matter much. As long as I had the main keywords in it I was ranking about the same. I still put keywords in bottom of my description tho just not as many and i just list them in a sentence like structure instead of in a list.

i tried it. didn't help much. used more than 50 keywords in description at a time but didn't help to rank or anything. so my experience was bad.

No don't do that, use 5-6 keywords only. Only use relevant keywords, never stuff it wont help the over all SEO value.

It will only make it worse!

If people don't know the exact title or other keywords associated with your video, they might search the name of a participant or another website where it's featured. Be sure to include as much information as you feel comfortable, but be careful not to include anything that shouldn't be publicly displayed.

I do use lot of keywords on my description and, in my experience, it actually helps...

BUT, here's the kicker: You need to use ORIGINAL CONTENT as well.

So the description goes like this: Original content FIRST (around 150 words) and THEN keyword stuffing (from 10 to 30 keywords)

Ah only noticed the rest of the replies now.. ye i was planning on adding a bit of original content first alright and then adding a whole bunch of low search volume keywords after it. I forgot to mention i only want these videos to rank on g00gle, i don't really care for how they rank on YT and so the beginning of the description will have to make sense anyway.

All the keywords are relevant since they all have my main keyword in them, but if i was to keyword stuff at the bottom of my description, and out of view of where most people look, would you say it's ok to literally go keyword1 keyword2 keyword3 and so on for the last paragraph or should i try and blend them into sentences?!

    Thanks :)

You just have to test it and see what works for yourself. It varies on every niche/video.

if you're trying to rank on google and not youtube, i read in a thread on here it helps if you use the keyword or keyword phrases listed on the bottom of the results page for your keyword.
